On the game: The game's plot contines the story of Gordon Freeman's adventures, a research scientist, fighting with the inhabitants of other worlds, invaded the world of men. Gordon goes on a journey during which he is faced with fighting vehicles of the Alliance, frightening aliens and modified people, falfilling the will of the invaders. He manages to raise the rebels to open war against the oppressors and perform many other important cases.

Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life 2'nin devami niteliginde olan üç serilik parçanin ilk bilgisayar oyunudur.serisin ikinci oyunu olan Half-Life 2: Episode Two The Orange Box ile birlikte çikmistir. Episode Three'nin resmi çikis tarihi ise daha açiklanmamistir. Ilk iki oyunda oldugu gibi yine bu oyunda da Gordon Freeman adli bilim adamini yönetiyoruz ve Half-Life 2'den kaldigimiz yerden tepesinde bir patlamaya neden oldugumuz citadelden baslayarak Sehir-17'den kaçmaya çalisiyoruz. Kaçmaya çalisirken Half-Life 2'den de tanidigimiz Alyx Vance bize oyun boyunca yardim ediyor. Serinin diger oyunlarina göre en kisa olanidir ve yaklasik 5-6 saatlik oynanis süresi vardir. kisa olmasina ragmen en az 20 saatlik oynanisa sigabilecek aksiyon ve duygu yüklü sahne vardir. Ayrica oyunda HDR grafik teknolojisi kullanilarak daha gerçekçi görüntüler ortaya konulmustur.
